Await Hunker Down

And to stare into the eye
Of the storm and not
Buckle panic nor flee
But smile and grit
With teeth barred and
Angry hiss
As the winds howl
And the rain dances
Upon the edge of vision
Await
Hunker down
Hold on to stout beams and loved ones
For your supports
Ideas and fond remembrances and dreams
And to stare into the eye
Of the storm
With calm heart
That is courage my love
That is hope
Hold on

As We Walk Along and Scent the Air

Collapse your fears and
Insulate yourself
From my aggrandizements and also
Tears
Come along and sing with me
Hold my hand and let
My fingers gently caress your waist
While we walk along and scent the air
Free of worry and scorn
Free of the irons and chains
Of our anxieties
Enjoying each other's
Proximity and trust
Not allowing
Apprehension
As we walk along and scent the air
As empires march and grow and
Die

Chains

I painted my chains
With happy faces and dayglo
People commented
They seemed a little lighter also
But I bet they were not
Much better for your
Mentality
Said the doctors
But they don't have any
To compare
Chains that is
Just clipboards
Boring sterile brown
No decoration
Just clipboards and
Ball point pens
Of a dull grey
Which they mark
On the clipboards with

Chains swayin'
Hearts brayin'
The light in our eyes
Will be ever bright
The light of our eyes
Can shine up the night
Chains swayin'
Hearts brayin'

The Sense of Alteration

Can you not see
The lines of view
The sense of alteration
In the vista ahead
Can you bear to witness
Smell the air and taste
The fear
Or is it sex you scent
Can you not see
Their point of view
Can you not feel
Emotion any longer or
Will you close your eyes instead
Plug your mouth and nose
Turn and walk back and away
The sense of alteration
Creeping ever forward
At your back

As You Stride By My Side

The tower of Babel
Ain't got nothing on you
Your legs long and trunk tall
Your incessant chatter and your blurred fingers
As you type type type
Documents of our lusts and wars
You silence only in order to
Eat in some breaths
As you stride by my side
Enemy prime and love first principal
You prolong your career as my
Primary adversary
With all your guile and charm
Your multitude of tones and speech
The hanging gardens you were in awe of
Their slopes reminding you of
Far away dreams
But they were destroyed
My enemy
My love
While we stride on purposeful
Our egos not unlike
The Colossus of Rhodes
Which duly crashed upon the earth
As you stride by my side
Eating in breaths during
Rare pauses and silence

Your Screed For a Better World

Your screed for a better world
I didn't read it
It was tedious and
And even more so was
Rife with friction causing errors
Of a grammatical nature
Also refrain further
From the usage of emotical symbols
Smiling and frowning
If you are to be taken
Seriously
Screedwise
You also mention
A better world if owls
Are put in charge
I didn't read it
But and
Might I suggest
If you want the owls or other avians
To take you serious
I would correct at least your
Friction causing
Grammatical errors and
Emotical symbols
Rife as they be
I didn't read it
Your screed for a better world
