Where Shall We Go Now

Where shall we go now

That we have drunk down all the sightings

In the cold clear night

And bathed in the glare

Of the pure moon light

Who shall we sing too

Now the wolves have all retired

Who shall we seek out

To once again conspire

To fight for truth and beauty and

Begin it all again

To dance in all our glory

And invent new ways to sin

Where shall we run to now

In order to regain

Our hopes and trust and confidence

So much hard earned disdain

And who shall we rely on

Now the weapons are all blunt

Who shall offer solace

Now they've called off the hunt

We've stitched a cloak of sorrow

And sewn our wounds up tight

As our voices crack and break

Our vision losing sight

So let's empty out the wine skins

And down the whisky fast

And pray to all the gods of night

That dawn will come at last

Sidewalks and Alleyways of Life

You look lopsided but maybe I oughta

Straighten out myself more better than I am

But bent over so when walking

Enables me to find more treasure the better too

However I fair worse at meeting gazes and adjudging truth

In eyeballs of those attempting discussion in my direction

But most tend to avoid this course of action

When myself squinting unstraightened and bent over move near

As I shuffle seeking treasure on the sidewalks

Sidewalks and alleyways of life

Shuffle limp though legs work almost fine

Disguise and breath laced with garlic and other virtuous legumes

My defence against assault verbal or otherwise

As I shuffle seeking treasures seldom found

Along the sidewalks alleyways of life

Shuffle step and though lopsided

My vision remains sound

Sound as the most pleasing of birdsong

On a quiet cold November day

Seeking treasures on the sidewalks

Sidewalks and alleyways of life

Everyone Knows

 Everybody knows that

Everyone knows

Everybody rolls and gives it up

When caught up

Once they got your back up

Get you in that little room

And the DA dangles them little deals

And everybody knows that

Your bond ain't worth jack

Your girl ain't covering up squat

Brothers no longer

Employers don't bother

Everybody knows that

Everyone just knows

You're on your own

When caught up

Once they got your back up

Nailed against that wall

In that little room

Everyone rolls and gives it up

But keep your mouth shut

And dont sweat it much

The deals are all rotten

Anyways

And maybe you not squawkin'

Will get you solace some day

Or peace or reward

And not shived in the back

Anyways

When they got ya

Caught ya

Back against it

They got ya

Everyone knows

Dark Web of Lies

The dark web of lies

You weave into our lives

Leaves me with chills and means to protest

However your remaining qualities

Kindle enough fire

Foment such desire

As to counter such acts

Keeps me chained to you

Enthralled by you

I can stare into your eyes

And never tell truth from lies

So many lies dancing

In those beautiful grey eyes

Your smile large and everlasting

Lips freely beckoning

All my armour multi-layered and cumbersome

You pierce with a flutter of eyelash

Enough to make the system crash

You so adept at unrevealing

All your secrets truths and fears

Anything except your glorious body

Which you readily aim

In my direction

Your eyes so dismayingly bright

Your tongue so pretty as you

Spin half truths from your

Dark web of lies

All That Stands Between Us

 Struggle all through them avenues

Snakelike and hostile though they be

These tenuous defences I engender

All that stands between us

Subtle twists to navigate

The heat of your emotions

Burning the way

Your eyes shining so bright

Your mind full of night

Lending you strength to persevere

You never should have ventured here

Your hands bent and hard

Bent and twisted into claws

Sweat upon your body glistens

Drips all down leaves trails

Along the dusty ground

Like breadcrumbs

As you grope towards your goal

Not knowing when cometh the fall

Moving forward relentless

Until we meet

Love and hate our weapons drawn

All that stands between us

Oh Beautiful Dancer My Strayborn Thief

 You cannot halt

What cannot wait

You cannot fail to

Comprehend and

Accept your fate

Embrace the inner

Shed what is

Superfluous

And ungainly

Like an old skin slough off

Oh weary sinner

Oh beautiful dancer

Dance along the battle lines

Dodge well the weapons arranged against thee

And suffer not the serrated barbs

Subtly bend and twist and thrust

Between the points and through the gaps

Strike then while you can and when

The moment presents

The salvating blow

Redeeming faith

In justice or revenge

My strayborn thief

My heartburned killer

You cannot stop

What's motion forced

You cannot falter

Or alter course

Accept the design

Of what's been done

Avoiding perils sure to come

Go quickly now in thought and deed

The hunters to come relentlessly

Take my love along with thee

Oh lusty friend

Of my erstwhile heart

How It's Gone So Bad Between Us

I look into your distant eyes and wonder

Where your thoughts have turned and utter

Curses under breath turned sour

Regarding all that's come before

And how it's gone so bad between us

And how your heart has turned to stone

And how it all has gone so wrong

As I take your hand you shudder

Pull away with tears and mutter

Your voice so cold and gaze now hollow

Your thoughts and fears I dare not follow

How could the fire have got so low

Been left so long our love is gone

And how it all has gone so wrong

Your tone is cold as alabaster

Your laughter such a painful matter

To hear your scorn in every note

To see you drained of any hope

Oh how it's gone so

Bad between us

And how it all has gone so wrong
