In the throes of heated things
Through the groans of displaced dreams
You come into the dappled light
You take my breath and blur my sight
I can only gasp and sigh
So long it's been
Since we cast the die
That lead us down this sorry road
We've long since lost our moral code
It's cost so much in blood and treasure
Ours sins run deep
One cannot measure
And yet you take my breath away
The same back then and to this day
You twirl around and take a bow
My heart it burns and then I vow
To make it all be worth the cost
This road we've run
This long way travelled
Through so many hopes unraveled
Our hearts so bound with vows and curses
And all the counters and reverses
Blood on our hands we can wash away
Through the birth of a new day
