And to My Knees

And then you walk
Away and not
Toward
My eyes downcast
And then you stop
As does my heart
And trembling turn
Hesitating
The weight of expectation
Oppressing
Condensing
Time
You bite your lip and
I cannot move
Rooted
Your beauty present
But not your
Intent
Longing
I dare not breathe
And you
Hesitating
And then you walk
Away
And to my knees
I fall
