Rains
The rains when they come
Washeth all away
The sins and the dust from
Long journeys and dark works
Wash everything clean except
The joy the cool waters enable
Purity in the cold or
Calming mud in the grass
Embrace and be still
Parched throats no more
The heat and dry rash of fear
Banished in the torrent
Laugh at the skies and
Dance to the
Thunder and the musings
Of faraway gods
Prey you don't get lost in the
Lashing grey, however
Or too swept away
In the coming floods engendered
By the very life saving
Rains you celebrate
Washeth all away
The sins and the dust from
Long journeys and dark works
Wash everything clean except
The joy the cool waters enable
Purity in the cold or
Calming mud in the grass
Embrace and be still
Parched throats no more
The heat and dry rash of fear
Banished in the torrent
Laugh at the skies and
Dance to the
Thunder and the musings
Of faraway gods
Prey you don't get lost in the
Lashing grey, however
Or too swept away
In the coming floods engendered
By the very life saving
Rains you celebrate

Steam Rising Hearts Burning
You there I sense your peril
Me here I share your sorrow
Standing there I touch your face
Put an arm around your waist
You press your cheek against my shoulder
I am mute then start to stutter
As your tears roll down your nose
I stroke you hair begin to mutter
Silenced though by your kiss
A lifetime spent
Dreaming this
Intakes of breath
I bite your lip
Your fingers claw into my hip
Clinging to one
Each and other
Lips pressed tight
Our hearts devour
Calling and fearing and
Reaching and yearning
My tears and sweat all down my back
Your eyes all bright with
Intent attack
The searing heat between us
Illuminating us
Encapsulating us
Together
Steam rising
Hearts burning
Me here I share your sorrow
Standing there I touch your face
Put an arm around your waist
You press your cheek against my shoulder
I am mute then start to stutter
As your tears roll down your nose
I stroke you hair begin to mutter
Silenced though by your kiss
A lifetime spent
Dreaming this
Intakes of breath
I bite your lip
Your fingers claw into my hip
Clinging to one
Each and other
Lips pressed tight
Our hearts devour
Calling and fearing and
Reaching and yearning
My tears and sweat all down my back
Your eyes all bright with
Intent attack
The searing heat between us
Illuminating us
Encapsulating us
Together
Steam rising
Hearts burning

An Awkward Moment
An awkward moment and pause in thought
You there looking up from where
I here looking down from when
To clasp your hand or otherwise speak
In aid and assist
Is what is called for
But we linger the awkward moment before us
For such things are precious
You've torn your dress it seems
And skinned your knee
It's easier to sink than rise
So in sympathy I fall
Or does the ground rise and embrace me
It feels hard
I don't skin my knee though
Or tear my clothes
So perfect understanding
Eludes us
Still the awkward moment and pause
Was nice
You there looking up from where
I here looking down from when
To clasp your hand or otherwise speak
In aid and assist
Is what is called for
But we linger the awkward moment before us
For such things are precious
You've torn your dress it seems
And skinned your knee
It's easier to sink than rise
So in sympathy I fall
Or does the ground rise and embrace me
It feels hard
I don't skin my knee though
Or tear my clothes
So perfect understanding
Eludes us
Still the awkward moment and pause
Was nice
